Description Choices for People Center provides year-round support and instructional programs designed to aid individuals with disabilities in developing essential life skills. These skills promote inclusion, independence, self-sufficiency, and productivity; and aim to maximize the individual’s quality of life in the least restrictive environment possible. Choices for People Center assists in individual goal-oriented program planning, and acts as an advocate in the community through the removal of attitudinal, architectural, environmental, financial, employment-related, communicational, transportation, and other barriers. Position Summary The IT Specialist is responsible for delivering technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization’s IT systems. This role will help manage the IT helpdesk ticket queue, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, and provide timely assistance to end-users. The IT Specialist will also handle user provisioning and account management, administer the Microsoft 365 tenant, and assist with maintaining system security and compliance. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff. Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive): Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions through Entra ID Active Directory Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues. Monitor the helpdesk ticketing software daily Provide application support for EHR Administer phone PBX and configure VOIP phones Monitor system performance and assist with implementing security best practices Manage BYOD devices via Microsoft Intune Support deployment and troubleshooting of Windows 11 devices and other IT hardware Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues Assist the Director of IT with IT projects and system upgrades Requirements Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required 1-3 years' experience in IT Desktop Support preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong customer service and technical support skills, with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and application issues in a timely and professional manner. Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory / Entra ID, and endpoint management tools (such as Intune), including user provisioning, access management, and basic security practices. Foundational understanding of Windows-based systems, networking concepts, and common IT infrastructure components, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices. Ability to follow and support IT security, data protection, and compliance standards while maintaining accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and support activities. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users, manage multiple priorities, and work productively with internal teams and external vendors. Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and processes in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Physical Demands: Ability to safely lift and carry IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, as required for hardware installation and support. Ability to occasionally bend, reach, kneel, or crouch to access workstations, cabling, or equipment in office or program settings.
