Hours: 37.5 hours/week Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Friday (Early Finish): 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Davenham Switchgear Ltd, a Legrand group company are seeking a capable, self-sufficient, and people-focused IT Specialist with minimum 5 years of experience to manage the full breadth of IT operations within our organization of 400 employees, of which approximately 150 are currently connected users with company equipment. This is an onsite role supporting the business taking over from an IT specialist who is over 20 years in the role.
This is a standalone, hands-on role requiring a strong grasp of infrastructure, user support, cybersecurity, and systems management. While the position operates independently on a local level, the successful candidate will work closely with a global IT team, contributing to the implementation of global policies and governance standards. The ideal candidate will be passionate about IT, take full ownership of their responsibilities, and enjoy supporting both people and systems. A proactive mindset and the ability to perform under pressure are essential, as user support is often mission critical. The immediate priority will be delivering a Group Docking Project, which involves integrating the local IT environment with the infrastructure of our international parent company. This includes account and data migration, network alignment, hardware replacement, and security enhancement.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT support or systems administration, ideally in a standalone or senior role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking.
