If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves technology, and is dedicated to delivering outstanding customer service, then we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing: As an IT Specialist Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of the action, providing critical support across multiple ESP locations while working directly with state-of-the-art aviation technology. Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be responsible for:

  • First-Class Support: Provide first, second, and third-line support for specialist airport equipment, ensuring seamless operations and high availability.
  • Problem Solving: Identify recurring incidents and provide root-cause analysis to implement permanent fixes, making the system more reliable and efficient.
  • Proactive Maintenance: Regularly perform “floor-walking” and visual checks, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations. Engage with on-site officers to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Incident Management: Take ownership of incident escalations and work with the team to ensure swift resolutions, meeting contractual service levels.
  • Training & Support: Provide on-site training and assistance to ESP teams across various locations, ensuring that best practices are followed and knowledge is shared.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze fault data and contribute to the continuous improvement of ticket processing systems.
  • Global Travel: Occasionally travel for business requirements, giving you the opportunity to work in diverse and dynamic locations.
  • Working hours: 09:00 - 17:30 + On-Call (£20 per night)

What We’re Looking For: To be successful in this role, you’ll need a blend of technical expertise and excellent interpersonal skills. Here’s what we’re after:

  • Experience: 3-5 years in a mechanical operations/IT field engineer role, with hands-on experience supporting hardware and software.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of IT hardware, Microsoft Desktop software, and network fundamentals.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostics and troubleshooting skills—if there’s a problem, you’ll find a solution.
  • Adaptability: Self-motivated, flexible, and always ready to embrace new challenges and technology.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Security: You’ll need to obtain SC clearance (if not already cleared).
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence and a valid UK passport for occasional business travel.

Physical Requirements: This role requires a hands-on approach, and you should be comfortable with physical tasks such as:

  • Lifting or pushing 20-50 pounds of equipment.
  • Standing or kneeling for extended periods.
  • Using mechanical tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, drills).

What We Offer: We believe in rewarding talent and offering opportunities for growth. Here’s what you’ll enjoy as part of the ESP family:

  • Competitive Salary: A solid base salary with the opportunity for growth.
  • Benefits Package: Matching pension, life assurance, and access to ongoing career development.
