Hours: 37.5 hours/week Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Friday (Early Finish): 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Davenham Switchgear Ltd, a Legrand group company are are seeking a capable, self-sufficient, and people-focused IT Specialist with minimum 5+ years of experience to manage the full breadth of IT operations within our organization of 400 employees, of which approximately 150 are currently connected users with company equipment. As an onsite business, this is an onsite role supporting the business taking over from an IT specialist who is over 20 years in the role.
This is a standalone, hands-on role that demands a deep understanding of infrastructure, user support, cybersecurity, and systems management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about IT, take genuine ownership, and be someone who enjoys supporting people as much as systems. A proactive attitude and a drive to meet deadlines under pressure are essential, as user support is often mission critical. The immediate focus will be delivering a Group Docking Project, integrating our local IT environment into the infrastructure of our international parent company. This includes account and data migration, network alignment, hardware replacement, and security enhancement.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT support or systems administration, ideally in a standalone or senior capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, IT, or a related field - or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic networking.

Preferred Certifications (not all required):

  • CCNA, CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, MCSA
  • Microsoft 365 or Azure Fundamentals
  • ITIL v4 Foundation, PRINCE2 Foundation
  • Certified GDPR Practitioner or equivalent experience

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

  • Responsiveness and resolution time of support.
  • Positive user feedback and internal satisfaction metrics
  • Uptime and reliability of core systems and services.
  • Reduction in recurring issues through root cause elimination.
  • On-time delivery of key projects, especially the Docking Project.
  • Compliance with cybersecurity and data governance policies.
    This is a pivotal role for our organization, offering a high degree of autonomy and technical influence. You’ll work closely with the Group IT team and CFO in the initial period and ultimately take full ownership of our IT operations.
