THE OPPORTUNITY

TIPI Group of Companies is seeking a strategic and solutions-oriented Information Technology (IT) Specialist to join our team, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This role is responsible for managing and maintaining the technology infrastructure across all TIPI Group entities, including hardware, software, networks, and databases.
The IT Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the secure, efficient, and reliable operation of IT systems, while also providing hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for internal users. In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, this role is instrumental in shaping and advancing TIPI’s internal technology environment to support business growth, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Working closely with our Managed Service Provider (MSP), the IT Specialist will lead internal IT initiatives and provide guidance on how technology can drive organizational performance. As a trusted advisor to executive leadership, this role ensures that IT strategies are aligned with broader business goals and that the organization is well-positioned for future growth.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Strategic thinker with a track record of aligning technology initiatives to business goals
  • Effective communicator with experience engaging executive leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Hands-on experience supporting IT aspects of mergers and acquisitions
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity frameworks
  • Skilled in vendor management, system integration, and contract negotiation
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., PIPEDA, ISO 27001, PHIPA/HIA/FIPPA/HIPA/PHIA ) and risk management best practices

YOUR IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5–8+ years in IT strategy, infrastructure, or system integration, with experience supporting M&A or major tech transitions is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud platforms, SaaS, and enterprise systems
  • Effective communicator and cross-functional collaborator, with experience advising executive leadership in dynamic environments

Responsibilities
  • System and Network Administration: Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, servers, LANs, and WANs.
  • Data Security & Backup: Implement security measures (firewalls, antivirus, access controls) and manage data backup and recovery systems.
  • Technical Support: Provide end-user support, including hardware/software troubleshooting, account setup, and issue resolution.
  • Software & Hardware Management: Monitor system performance, conduct preventive maintenance, and manage databases.
  • Project & Vendor Management: Support IT projects (upgrades, deployments) and coordinate with vendors for system maintenance and improvements.
  • Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Maintain clear documentation of IT systems and processes, while identifying areas for improvement.
