JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a skilled IT Specialist to join our dynamic team and provide support in software, workstations, and mobile device integration. This position will provide a central point of contact for our team and existing IT service provider.
Responsibilities:
1. System Management
· Administer and maintain core IT systems including PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Microsoft 365, and Plexxis platforms.
· Monitor system performance, conduct regular updates, and ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
· Manage user accounts, permissions, and licenses across platforms.
· Coordinate with vendors and service providers for system upgrades and support.
2. Integration of Technology
· Lead the integration of mobile electronics (e.g., tablets, smartphones, field devices) with enterprise software systems.
· Ensure compatibility and synchronization between field and office technologies.
· Evaluate and recommend new tools or platforms that enhance operational efficiency and field productivity.
3. Technical Support
· Serve as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues, providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support.
· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
· Maintain existing ticketing system to track and prioritize support requests.
4. Training and User Enablement
· Develop and deliver training programs for employees on the effective use of IT systems and construction software.
· Create user manuals, quick reference guides, and video tutorials.
· Provide one-on-one coaching and group workshops to improve digital literacy and software adoption.
5. Data Security and Compliance
· Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, antivirus, and data encryption.
· Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
· Manage backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical data.
6. Project Collaboration and Field Support
· Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to align IT solutions with construction workflows.
· Support the deployment of digital tools on job sites, ensuring connectivity and functionality.
· Assist in the setup and maintenance of job site IT infrastructure (e.g., Wi-Fi, printers, mobile workstations).
7. Documentation and Reporting
· Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and support logs.
· Generate reports on system usage, support metrics, and training effectiveness.
· Contribute to IT policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
· Required - High school graduate
· Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferable.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
· Proficiency in construction-focused platforms such as Plexxis, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft 365.
· Strong understanding of mobile device management and cross-platform integration.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
· Effective communicator with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users.
· Demonstrated ability to train and support end-users at all levels of technical proficiency.
· Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and IT compliance standards.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
