Description The IT Summer Support Intern provides hands-on assistance to the technology department with the preparation, organization, maintenance, and tracking of devices. This role focuses on device preparation and maintenance, basic hardware preparation, data entry, and classroom equipment support to ensure device deployment and ongoing operations. Key Responsibilities Device Preparation & Maintenance Clean, organize, and label Chromebooks for student use. Clean projector filters following established maintenance procedures. Assist in powering on and prepping Windows laptops so that Windows Autopilot processes can run successfully. Inspect devices for basic physical condition issues and report any concerns to senior IT staff. Support the installation and replacement of projectors Device Inventory & Tracking Apply asset tags to Chromebooks, Windows laptops, projectors, and other devices as needed. Record device information (serial numbers, asset tags, locations, user assignments, etc.) into the school’s inventory system. Maintain accurate and organized documentation to support ongoing device tracking and audits. General Support Help keep IT work areas tidy, organized, and safe. Assist IT staff with additional technology-related tasks as assigned. Requirements Basic understanding of Chromebooks, Windows laptops, and classroom A/V equipment. Ability to follow detailed, multi-step procedures accurately. Strong attention to detail, especially when labeling and recording device information. Comfortable lifting up to 30 lbs and safely operating hand tools Organized, reliable, and able to work independently or under direction.
Responsibilities
The intern will handle the preparation, maintenance, and tracking of IT devices including Chromebooks and Windows laptops. They will also support classroom equipment installation and maintain accurate inventory documentation.
