JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: IT Supervisor
STATUS: Full time
LOCATION: Head office and branches

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • IT Vendor Managment
  • Requires an advanced proficiency in the operation of local and wide-area networks and components.
  • Must be proficient with current Microsoft Server and Client operating systems.
  • Must be able to perform duties accurately and independently.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with members and associates in person or over the phone, in a courteous, pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Discretion, accuracy, and clarity in communication are essential.
  • A high degree of professionalism in regard to safeguarding sensitive data is also a requirement.
  • Candidate must have a good working knowledge of a Microsoft Network environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to install, remove, change, and carry desktop computers, monitors, and network equipment around.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or related IT specialization.
Requires at least 5 years of similar or related experience.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified or Cisco Certified would be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years Experience with switches, firewalls, Veeam, windows 2016, vmware, VoIP solutions, Microsoft Office 365
  • Background or interest in VoIP technologies VoIP PBX Systems, MS Active Directory, Programming are also helpful assets.
  • Desktop troubleshooting experience is essential
  • Preference will be given to MCSE/MCP certifications

Responsibilities:

  • Installs, configures, tests, and maintains network computers and related networking equipment.
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications.
  • Installs security updates on desktops, printers, and related networking equipment.
  • Configures and maintains Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Anti- Malware, etc. for maximum internal network protection.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with desktops, printers, and related equipment, for in-house and remote users.
  • Logs all computer, terminal, and printer hardware/software problems. Calls appropriate maintenance organizations and arranges for repair. Notifies manager of unusual problems.
  • Assists with software upgrades and installations.
  • Provides support to operational staff and other FDR associates as needed.
  • Performs such other duties as may be required from time to time for the overall management and operation of FDR.
  • Answers staff calls and helps resolve their computer/network issues.
