Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. The Information Technology (IT) Supervisor of Metering Technology is a key leadership role responsible for managing the support, development, and implementation of metering and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) applications. This individual will lead a production support team, overseeing the day-to-day operations of our metering technology landscape to ensure the delivery of stable, secure, and high-performing solutions that enable efficient business operations and exceptional customer service. The Supervisor will be accountable for maintaining system reliability, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement across the metering application portfolio.
This role requires a dynamic blend of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration. The IT Supervisor will be responsible for managing application enhancements, coordinating system upgrades, and leading project implementations across the metering technology portfolio. Projects may follow either Agile or Waterfall methodologies, depending on scope and business needs, and will require close coordination with internal teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders. The Supervisor will also play a key role in planning and prioritizing initiatives, ensuring that technology solutions align with business objectives and deliver measurable value. In addition to overseeing technical execution, this individual will foster strong relationships across departments, promote transparency in communication, and champion a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a focus in computer science, computer information systems or equivalent work experience.
  • Expertise in managing production support for mission-critical systems with a focus on operational stability and incident resolution.
  • Familiarity with metering systems, AMI technologies, and utility industry applications.
  • Experience managing outsourced IT services and cloud/hosted vendor relationships, including SLA tracking and compliance.

Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Proven experience leading teams and overseeing day-to-day operations of enterprise applications.
  • Proven experience leading and coaching support teams, including performance management and vendor oversight.
  • Expertise in managing production support for mission-critical systems with a focus on operational stability and incident resolution.
  • Familiarity with metering systems, AMI technologies, and utility industry applications.
  • Experience managing outsourced IT services and cloud/hosted vendor relationships, including SLA tracking and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the metering application support team, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery.
  • Coordinate application maintenance, production support, and release management activities across the metering and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) portfolio.
