EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in 1st line support or customer service role

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proven problem-solving skills with a diverse range of specialist applications.
  • Ability to work across issues of varying scale and complexity.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

The IT Support Assistant maintains and improves our company’s IT systems for reliability and efficiency. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, setting up new systems, and providing ongoing user support.

This role enhances back-office productivity, works with colleagues of varying technical expertise, and third-party support services, all while ensuring excellent customer service. The IT Support Assistant is dedicated to resolving issues promptly and professionally, maintaining high satisfaction levels among internal and external users

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
  • Resolve technical problems with other systems.
  • Install computer peripherals for users.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure issues have been resolved.
  • Gain feedback from customers about computer usage.
  • Ensure IT systems are reliable and efficient, contributing to the overall productivity of the organization.
  • Support the IT transformation process, including cloud-based, Big Data, and machine learning projects.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of the back-office team through excellent IT support.
  • Work closely with highly skilled clients and colleagues across various levels of technical expertise and seniority.
  • Collaborate with third-party support and repair services.
  • Communicate effectively inside and outside the organisation.
