Ticker has built a next-generation motor insurer, leveraging connected car data and data science across every aspect of the business, including pricing, underwriting, customer engagement and claims.
The motor insurance landscape is set for a major shift and the battleground will be won or lost in the next five years. It will all come down to pricing sophistication and the most efficient use of machine learning and artificial intelligence across the whole value chain.
The business includes a first-class executive team with a proven track-record in building successful insurtechs and running some the largest insurers in the UK.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU’LL NEED:

• A desire to automate the boring stuff! Scripting and automation of repetitive tasks
• Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 Administration (including SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive)
• Microsoft Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID
• Cloud Networking and Configuration (VNET/VPC, Routing, Site to Site VPN, Tailscale etc.)
• Network knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, Unifi Network)
• 3CX PBX exposure beneficial
• Amazon Web Services highly beneficial (managing utilisation and optimising to cost savings)
• Knowledge of Linux and Kubernetes (incl. managing with Amazon EKS) highly beneficial
• Certifications in our stack or similar a bonus.

WHAT THE ROLE IS:

We’re looking for an IT Support Engineer to support the needs of our growing business. We have a distributed team around the UK and as we welcome new members to our team, we need a dedicated resource to ensure the smooth operations of our day-to-day IT provision and the operational performance of our technology.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Configuration and monitoring of our IT estate across local networks, laptops (Windows and Macs) as well as cloud resources
• Ensuring the availability of IT resources in line with capacity planning and recruitment needs
• We’d expect you to consider using the right tool for the job and consider the use of new technologies if appropriate to keep our IT operations efficient and effective. We don’t want your skills to stagnate, and we’ll keep you on the cutting edge of operating in a remote organisation.
• There’s also considerable scope for this role to extend into an active role within the Engineering team to support the automation of testing and infrastructure as part of our DevOps processes. From CI/CD systems through to automated testing and Infrastructure as Code, there will always be something to learn and help us accelerate delivery.

• Being proactive, you will be naturally inquisitive, a problem solver and someone who thrives in detail and complexity, and enjoys solving both the easy and the complex problems.
• You will be working with and alongside all teams in Ticker and have a natural ability to diagnose and support our teams.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING WITH YOUR DAYS:

• Self-motivated to own and develop the IT provision roadmap
• Setting up new laptops, configuring accounts and access
• Managing Microsoft 365 and Windows 11 and Mac laptops with InTune, Windows Defender for Endpoint
• Monitoring Microsoft 365 Audit and Compliance reports
• Assist colleagues resolve local laptop and IT issues
• Configure and Patch Operating Systems for clients and limited server infrastructure
• Information Security – monitoring and enforcing compliance to assure the integrity of systems and data
• Hardware and Software Procurement, Auditing and Configuration (Laptops, Licensing etc)
• Configuring and management of our cloud hosted 3CX PBX phone system
