POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dedicated Support Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing desktop IT support to managed and on-demand clients over the phone, via email and in-person at our client’s offices involving: Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, end-user hardware, software and peripherals;
  • Troubleshooting server infrastructure, network infrastructure and cybersecurity incidents involving; Windows Server 2012-2022; Microsoft 365; business-grade network switches and firewalls; business-grade WI-FI such as Cambium, Unifi, HP Aruba and Ruckus;
  • Contributing toward project work for our clients, including server infrastructure upgrades, line of business app developments, such as SQL server, SharePoint, Dynamics, etc; network deployments such as configuration of firewalls, routers, switches and wireless controllers;
  • Designing new network architecture to client’s requirements;
  • Contributing to backup and recovery plans for clients;
  • Root cause analysis and investigation of problems;
  • Research, analysis, and design of technical solutions to meet project requirements;
  • Identify the need for software or network upgrades, reconfiguration or new solutions and report to management;
  • Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting and improvement of client systems infrastructure;
  • Improving network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be seriously considered for this role, please have the following in your utility belt:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a Level 2+ generalist role in an IT managed service provider or similar broad environment.
  • Current Microsoft certifications will be looked at with seriously impressed eyebrows.
  • You must be a great communicator. Someone who understands how to frame their superpowered IT knowledge in a clear, concise and friendly manner; who can do so over the phone, in a well-crafted email or in person.
  • You should be self-motivated with an eagerness to excel and contribute to the performance of your team and clients.
  • Valid Driver’s License and work safe vehicle

You’ll also be comfortable and confident working with:

  • Backups and DR technology
  • Office 365 applications, SharePoint, Exchange Online
  • Azure AD and hosting services
  • Network config and troubleshooting including VPN, DNS, wireless LAN
  • Switches, routers, firewalls
  • Windows Desktops in AD & Azure environments
  • Windows Server, Group Policy, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Exchange
  • VMware / Hyper-V virtualisation
