The IT Field Technician is responsible for delivering advanced technical support
and on-site services to clients. This role requires a strong background in
troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of IT systems, as well as excellent
communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams working
Level I and II technical support tickets. This job is 100% travel around Lexington,
Wilmore and Louisville areas to work with customers in their office.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
o Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices,
printers, and other hardware.
o Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, VPN, wireless, and
switching/routing problems.
o Troubleshoot and remediate Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common
business applications.
System Deployment & Maintenance
o Install, configure, and maintain workstations, servers, and networking
equipment.
o Perform low voltage cabling, patch panel terminations, and equipment rack
installations when required.
o Support surveillance cameras, door access control, and VoIP systems as
assigned.
Project Work
o Serve as lead technician for small to medium client projects (hardware
rollouts, network upgrades, or security system deployments).
o Assist Project Managers in scoping, documentation, and execution of
larger deployments.
o Ensure projects are delivered on time and according to company quality standards. Escalation & Mentorship
o Act as an escalation resource for Level I Technicians.
o Document solutions in ticketing system and create knowledge base
articles for future use.
o Provide guidance and training to junior technicians.
Customer Interaction
o Communicate clearly and professionally with clients during service calls.
o Set proper expectations for service timelines and resolutions.
o Represent the company positively on client sites and ensure a high level of
customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
o 3+ years of IT support or field service experience (MSP environment
preferred).
o Experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365 administration, and Active
Directory.
o Strong knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS,
