Hays Technology is currently partnering with a large government organisation seeking an experienced IT Support Officer to join their internal technology team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys working across desktop support, end-user computing, mobile devices and enterprise technology environments.

About the Role

Working within a busy ICT Service Delivery team, you will provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to internal users, ensuring incidents and service requests are resolved efficiently and in line with ITIL best practices.

You will play a key role in maintaining a stable and secure desktop environment while providing hands-on support across a diverse range of technologies and business applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for desktop, laptop, software and peripheral issues
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests through the Service Desk
• Install, configure and maintain end-user devices and desktop environments
• Administer user accounts, email access, VPN connectivity and printer services
• Support mobile devices and endpoint technologies
• Maintain accurate IT asset and software licensing records
• Support video conferencing systems, smart meeting rooms and collaboration technologies
• Assist with desktop infrastructure maintenance and business continuity activities
• Document technical procedures and resolutions to improve service delivery
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate technical teams when required

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within a Service Desk, Desktop Support or IT Support role
• Strong knowledge of Windows desktop environments, hardware and peripheral support
• Experience working within an ITIL-based support environment
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and customer service focus
• Experience supporting user accounts, remote access and networking fundamentals
• Exposure to Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms such as Intune highly regarded
• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop or remote desktop environments is advantageous
