MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) year’s experience installing and maintaining computer hardware and peripherals.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in database (Oracle and MS Access).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of business operation software. Knowledge of office applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to provide IT support to upper level administrative offices within the Division of Academic Affairs in a professional and expedient manner.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate IT support to the Academic Affairs’ offices including: The Office of Research Administration; OU Incubator; Biomedical Research Support Facility; Academic Human Resources; Academic Continuing Education/Special Programs; Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning; International Students and Scholars Office; the Office of the Provost and others as assigned. Work with department heads to evaluate the IT needs and implement solutions. Manage and coordinate the service response to all classroom support requests. Assist in the management and coordination of training for student employees. Provide auxiliary technical support to Classroom Support Services with classroom computers and other control devices.. Research and evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations. This position will be a team member for the technical support of campus events (including live streaming) at Oakland University, supervised by the Manager, Event Support Services. Will be required to co-support high profile events (BOT meetings, University Senate, OU Commencement). This position will be organizationally flexible and positioned to support any future IT needs for Oakland University as determined by UTS Leadership.
