Description

We are looking for an IT Support Specialist with a passion for providing exceptional technical assistance to join our team in Burlington, Ontario. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in supporting vessel operations and office staff by ensuring smooth IT functionality. This is a great opportunity for a proactive and tech-savvy individual to work in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Level 1 IT support for vessel crew members and office staff, addressing technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Manage user onboarding and offboarding processes, including laptop deployment, mobile device configuration, and Microsoft 365 account setup.
  • Handle account-related tasks such as password resets, account lockouts, and group permissions in Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Oversee IT inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and maintenance of hardware and software assets.
  • Utilize Microsoft Intune to configure and manage laptops for end-users.
  • Provide technical assistance for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) setups to meet organizational requirements.
  • Assist with Power BI and workflow automation initiatives, if applicable.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to support foundational security measures and protocols.
  • Travel occasionally to vessel locations, approximately twice per month, to provide on-site IT support.
  • Maintain and reference documentation to ensure consistency in IT support and processes.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, including hands-on troubleshooting and user assistance.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory and Azure AD for account and group management.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Exchange, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and hardware deployment processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune for laptop configuration and management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Availability to work in a hybrid schedule (in-office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday).
  • A proactive and curious mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
