SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Location: Southeast Wisconsin (local travel only)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Travel: Regular on-site visits; mileage reimbursed
After-Hours: Rotating on-call after training

POSITION OVERVIEW

Seeking an experienced IT professional to provide comprehensive technical support and maintenance for customer environments, including networks, workstations, and servers. This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of businesses in Southeast Wisconsin and an internal IT team. The ideal candidate will be operating independently in the field, adept at diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and capable of communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience managing IT infrastructure for a small-to-mid-sized business, including networks, servers, and workstations.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across hardware, software, and networking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular travel to client sites.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned clients, ensuring the reliability and security of their IT systems.
  • Maintain and support Microsoft Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, file shares, backups).
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot business networks, including firewalls, switches, and wireless systems.
  • Manage workstation lifecycles, including deployment, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Implement and maintain security solutions such as EDR, patch management, DNS filtering, and Microsoft 365.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues both remotely and on-site.
  • Provide recommendations for system improvements and preventative measures.
  • Participate in a rotating after-hours support schedule once fully trained.
