Description

The purpose of this role is to provide day to day housekeeping of systems and devices and offer first line support across Jigsaw Trust, escalating any support tickets that need to be resolved by the IT team.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Hardware: Basic knowledge of PC/laptop internals and hardware upgrades.
  • Microsoft: Experience with Office, Windows 10/11, Defender (Microsoft 365 is a plus).
  • Email Services: Familiarity with Outlook/Exchange.
  • Scripting & Automation: Any exposure to PowerShell or other coding/scripting languages.
  • Apple Devices: Use of iPads/iPhones; knowledge of MDM tools is a bonus.
  • Telephony: Some experience supporting phone systems.
  • Networking:
  • Soft: Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, web filtering, firewalls.
  • Hard: Experience with Ethernet, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VOIP is advantageous.

Responsibilities
  • Provide, first line technical support for IT; recording all calls, activities and resolutions utilising the helpdesk
  • Escalate calls or technical issues to IT team in line with our service agreements
  • Undertake day to day maintenance of printers, end user devices and core systems
  • Assist the IT team in the administration of VOIP (Voice Over IP) and telephony systems
  • Undertake software and hardware installs, as directed by the IT team
  • General user administration, account creation, management and deletion, in line with Jigsaw Policy, to ensure timely and accurate management
  • Apple product administration through an MDM (Mobile device management) including iPad and iPhone devices
  • General asset management duties that include updating the asset register, to ensure that an accurate record of assets and asset allocation is maintained
  • Undertake system checks and scheduled maintenance support activities, under direction of the IT team
  • Assist in support, maintenance and installation of cabling and AV (Audio Visual) equipment
  • Assist in basic network administration including Wi-Fi network admin, web filter and firewall administration, network cabling installations.
  • Support and undertaking ICT project work on discrete projects
  • Ensure that Jigsaw IT policies are complied with and escalate issues as required
  • Undertake research to help solve ICT problems and to develop personal skills to the benefit of the role
  • Assist in identifying and sharing opportunities for service improvement or development of ICT systems and services
  • Undertake any other tasks with can be reasonably expected in relation to the role
