Description

DARE TECHNOLOGY INC.

Overview
Dare Technology Inc. is seeking an IT Support Technician to be the dependable, first point of contact for our clients’ technical needs. Think of yourself as the friendly face and helping hand whenever something isn’t working as it should. You’ll visit client sites, roll up your sleeves, and get their day back on track—whether that means ensuring their computers stay up-to-date, restoring a dropped network connection, or tweaking IP phones so they can make that crucial call.
This role places you right at the center of our clients’ daily operations. When a software glitch leaves them locked out of their systems, or a piece of hardware is acting up, you’ll be the one guiding them back to a smooth, productive day. For bigger puzzles, you’re never on your own; our experienced team will step in to help you find the right solution. This is an opportunity to build confidence in your technical skills, strengthen customer relationships, and learn what it takes to keep modern technology running like clockwork.

Responsibilities

  • Frontline Troubleshooting: Address common hardware issues (desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals) and standard software problems, ensuring users can get back to work quickly.
  • Networking Support: Verify network connectivity, troubleshoot basic LAN/WAN issues, and assist with simple switch or router tasks to maintain reliable access to resources.
  • IP Phone Management: Configure and update IP phone systems, handle routine handset replacements, and ensure voice services run smoothly.
  • Software & OS Maintenance: Install, update, and secure common business applications and operating systems; assist with password resets and user account management.
  • Documentation & Communication: Keep clear records of the issues you’ve resolved, maintain open communication with clients and the internal team, and escalate more complex challenges as needed.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a helpdesk or IT support environment, with a focus on standard troubleshooting tasks.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems, basic networking concepts, and typical business hardware.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in an approachable manner.
  • A problem-solving mindset and comfort knowing when to seek assistance for advanced issues.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident currently residing in Canada. Work authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.

Work Schedule & Logistics

  • Full-time position: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for urgent client needs.
  • On-Call rotation after training period.
  • Based in Picture Butte, AB.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as setting up equipment.
  • Comfortable working in various office environments and potentially tight spaces.
  • Ability to climb to heights above 50 meters when required (e.g., networking cabling, equipment installation).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Range: $20–$27 per hour, based on experience.
  • Benefits Package Includes:
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Paid vacation and personal time off.
  • Comprehensive training and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Equipment Provided: Laptop, mobile phone, and necessary tools for onsite work.
