We’re looking for a motivated Junior IT Support Technician who is eager to develop their career in IT while providing day-to-day technical support to our office-based teams. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys problem-solving, helping colleagues, and gaining hands-on experience with a range of systems and devices. You will support users across the business by assisting with technical issues, setting up equipment, and helping ensure IT systems and applications run smoothly. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and keen to learn, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users. As this is an office-based role within a fast-paced construction environment, a professional approach and willingness to take initiative are essential. Key Responsibilities: IT Operations & User Support • Provide first- and second-line IT support to office staff via in-person, telephone, and remote assistance. • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across Windows devices. • Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. • Assist with user account management, including onboarding, offboarding, password resets, and permissions. • Ensure support requests are resolved efficiently in line with IT procedures. Systems & Infrastructure • Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other devices. • Assist with basic network support including LAN, Wi-Fi, and connectivity issues. • Support endpoint security, patching, updates, and routine system checks. • Escalate technical issues when required. Business Applications • Provide user support for key business systems including document management, finance, project management, and industry software. • Work with the IT Manager and external vendors to resolve system issues. IT Administration & Security • Maintain IT asset records and documentation. • Assist with IT procurement and general administration. • Promote good cyber security practices and support compliance with company policies and standards. Skills & Experience: Essential • Previous experience in an IT support or service desk role. • Good knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365. • Basic understanding of networking (IP, DHCP, Wi-Fi). • Strong problem-solving, organisation, and prioritisation skills. • Confident supporting non-technical users and working independently. Desirable • Experience supporting construction, engineering, or project-based environments. • Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD, or Intune. • Awareness of Cyber Essentials or similar security standards. • Relevant IT qualifications or certifications (e.g. CompTIA or Microsoft).
