Primary Technology are looking for an IT Support Technician to work in Schools in Bradford. You should have a keen interest in IT and be willing to expand your skills through experience and accredited training.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experienced in the management and support of Windows software and hardware
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server Environments (both maintaining and installing)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Experienced in supporting desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, interactive touchscreens and classroom ICT equipment
  • Travel between client sites

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Understanding of firewall, routing & VLANS (Switching)
  • Understanding of Cloud technologies (Azure, 365 & G Suite)
  • Experience using and implementing MDMs
  • Previous experience working in an Education setting

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

The role is offered on a full-time basis and successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.
It is essential candidates can drive and have their own vehicle.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for supporting IT hardware and services across the school sites, helping to improve the standard of ICT and enable high-quality teaching and learning.
You will facilitate communication between your schools, central MAT and SLT teams and Primary Technology, working within our Support Services team alongside other technicians, senior technicians, team leaders and the Service Desk team. You will be skilled in maintaining computer equipment, installing new and existing software across the network, providing end-user support and troubleshooting technical problems. You will also have good knowledge of common user applications and experience with Microsoft 365.
The ideal candidate will ideally have at least 3 years’ experience in working in a previous IT Technician position, preferably in the education sector.
You will be passionate about IT with a strong technical background, be self-motivated and enjoy providing excellent customer service. This role requires you to be a team player, have strong communication and organisation skills along with a courteous manner with the ability to explain technical issues in layman’s terms to our customers.
You should be able to work independently and have strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve services provided by your team.
You will be mainly based at customer sites in West Yorkshire with occasional visits to our head office in Bradford.
