About the role In DevTools and Observability, we are looking for a new team member to help us with the system administration of the common development tools and supporting the developers. The engineering teams are using DevOps approach, and we are supporting the common tools, both the system administration with licenses and the day-to-day support of the developers. As an example, we are system administrators for Miro and GitHub. Many of our tools are SaaS solutions, but they still need administration and support. About the team The team collaborate on development tools, to get developers even more efficient, and on observability, to get even higher availability on our systems. Team consists of 6 people from Riga, 3 from Stockholm and 3 from Copenhagen. We are working agile in a combination of Kanban and Scrum to support both the daily maintenance and planned deliveries. What are you going to do? User Support: Assist internal users with technical queries, software installations, and troubleshooting. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights. Vendor Tool Management: Understand and manage vendor tools used in application development. Support internal users in using these tools effectively. Comparative Investigations: Research and compare competing tools or technologies. Provide insights on pros, cons, and suitability. Documentation and Instructions: Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps. Develop user guides and instructions for vendor tools. Security and Compliance: Implement security measures (e.g., firewalls, antivirus) and ensure compliance with policies. Conduct regular security audits. Inventory and Licensing: Track software licenses, renewals, and inventory. Coordinate with vendors for licensing agreements. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, platform responsible) to address IT needs. What do we expect from you? Must have Clear communication is crucial when interacting with users, colleagues, and vendors. Explain technical concepts in a way that non-technical users can understand. IT System specialist encounter various issues daily. Being able to diagnose problems, troubleshoot efficiently, and find effective solutions is essential. Precise configuration, security settings, and documentation are critical. Attention to detail prevents costly mistakes. Treat users with patience and empathy. Excellent customer service enhances user satisfaction. Much of the support will be to the Nordic countries, and therefore you need to be fluent in English. Familiarity with vendor tools and application development technologies. Technology evolves rapidly. An adaptable specialist can handle changes, updates, and new tools effectively. Prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and respond promptly to incidents. Understand security best practices and proactively protect systems from threats. Nice to have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as an IT System Specialist.
