Description

As a rapidly growing organization, Situate is seeking a career-driven IT professional to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with a strong background in IT Infrastructure (servers & network) & cyber security within a corporate environment.
The candidate must possess a working technical knowledge of networking, OS virtualization, hardware redundancy, automated application deployment and monitoring services within a Microsoft Windows domain environment.
For this position, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving complex issues related to all aspects of IT industry. Effective problem solving, initiative and drive is highly desired in this role. You will be required to work with third-party resources as well as serve as an escalation point to other team-members to resolve issues within service level targets and project deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 - 8 years’ working IT support experience (Local working experience preferred). As a highly collaborative individual, you are ready to execute successful projects, proposals, and infrastructure deployments, self-leading and managing the changing dynamics of projects and client expectations. You are a team-player with an appreciation for communicating within all levels of a company and open to constructive criticism within our team environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, maintain & troubleshoot multiple SME corporate network, servers & backups, UPS, data storage & other hardware infrastructures, with final responsibilities; And ensure high service uptime & solid backups for these IT systems.
  • Monitor & maintain high cyber security for multiple SME corporate network, server & backup infrastructure and endpoints. Handle & fix cyber security incidents.
  • Handle level 2/3 end user IT support tickets; Assist in other end user tech support in case of shortage of hands.
  • Assist in new IT Infrastructure design for new customers; Implement new IT Infrastructure projects for new clients
  • Up-sales - develop and present IT Proposals to clients on infrastructure improvements & upgrades.
  • Manage service delivery with detailed ticketing and time tracking, including description of problem, work performed and resolution.
  • Assist in sales & procurement
  • Monitor and respond to critical alerts. After-hours emergency support in a rotating 24/7 on-call environment.
  • Travel to clients’ offices, mostly in Calgary
  • Flexible and able to work weekends and after hours as needed.
  • Technical training of new and\or existing staff

Technical Skill & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of independent or chief project role experience in Hyper-V, VMWare complex hosting environment, incl. high-availability cluster, iSCSI data storage (Dell, QNAP, Pure Storage).
  • Minimum 3 years of independent or chief project role experience in physical servers (Dell, Lenovo, HPE), data storage & NAS (esp. QNAP) & Enterprise UPS hardware & software setup. This includes experience in the setup of server racks, server room & data centre
  • Minimum 2 years of independent or chief project role experience in maintaining & troubleshooting complex corporate network, incl. FortiGate, Juniper & PFSense firewalls, Cisco & FortiGate switches, UniFi AP & controllers, Cisco Meraki, complex VLAN & misc. VPN setup. Have experience with HA network setup.
  • Minimum 3 years of independent or chief project role experience with Windows Server, MS Exchange Server, Microsoft Active Directory, MS RDS setup, LDAP, MS IIS, SSL.
  • Minimum 2 years of independent or chief project role experience in MS AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop) Deployment & Maintenance, MS365 & Azure management, architecture & implementation
  • Minimum 2 years of independent or chief project role experience with Hornet VM Backup (formally known as Altaro) & Veeam Backup
  • A great plus to have rich experience in MS SharePoint Development, Linux, Apache & simple web development
