Description
The Role This role combines hands-on systems administration with end-user support ownership. You will oversee our corporate IT landscape, ensuring our team has the tools they need while maintaining the security controls and operational rigor required by a modern engineering organization. We are looking for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional service to colleagues and enjoys the challenge of standardizing and securing a distributed corporate environment. What You'll Do Service-First Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues, troubleshooting hardware and software with a user-centric approach that prioritizes unblocking teammates quickly. Corporate Systems Administration: Manage and secure our core productivity suites and identity providers, ensuring proper configuration, access control, and reliability across the organization. Security & Compliance: Collaborate with the security team to maintain certifications (SOC2, ISO 27001) by enforcing policies, gathering evidence, and ensuring strict access controls and device compliance. Lifecycle Management: Own the technical execution of onboarding and offboarding (accounts, access, device provisioning/return) to ensure a smooth and secure employee experience. SaaS Operations: Administer and continuously improve corporate tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Linear, Zoom, MDM, endpoint security), focusing on automation and reducing manual toil. Operational Excellence: Maintain IT "runbooks," asset inventory, and internal knowledge bases to drive consistency and self-service. Experience: 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator in a modern SaaS or tech environment. Service Mindset: A genuine passion for helping people and providing high-quality, patient user support; you view Helpdesk duties as a core part of the role, not a distraction. Language: Fluent English (written and verbal) is required to support our distributed, international team. Google Workspace: Practical administration experience (user and service configuration, OUs, security settings, troubleshooting). OS Proficiency: Strong hands-on troubleshooting across macOS and Windows (hardware, OS, common productivity apps). Fundamentals: Solid understanding of networking and endpoint security hygiene (DNS, DHCP, VPN, MFA, least privilege). Advantages (Nice to Have) Security Frameworks: Previous experience assisting with security audits and maintaining compliance standards like SOC2 or ISO 27001. DevOps Toolkit: Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), CI/CD (GitHub Actions), or containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). Automation: Ability to write scripts (Bash, Python, Go) to automate onboarding workflows or system reporting. Advanced Identity/MDM: Experience with Okta (SSO/SAML) and device management (JumpCloud, Jamf, Kandji, Intune).
