POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Systems Engineer is a technical expert responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting PGLS’s infrastructure and core IT systems. In addition to engineering responsibilities, this role participates in day-to-day support, providing hands-on assistance to end users and acting as a resource for escalated technical challenges. The engineer plays a key role in automation, systems documentation, audits, and projects such as application rollouts, migrations, and decommissions. This role requires strong technical depth, process discipline, a security-conscious mindset, and excellent communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in IT support and systems engineering roles.
  • Deep familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and device compliance tools.
  • Working knowledge of networking, firewalls, and cloud infrastructure concepts.
  • Experience with PowerShell or scripting languages for automation and configuration.
  • Proven ability to lead technical implementations and infrastructure change projects.
  • Comfortable collaborating with managed service providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation and audit-readiness mindset.
  • Excellent communication and service orientation.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support for end users alongside the support team.
  • Design and maintain systems across Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, VPN, backup, and network access tools.
  • Support incident resolution and root cause investigation in collaboration with the support team.
  • Lead root cause analysis and remediation of infrastructure-related problems.
  • Automate repetitive IT tasks using scripts, deployment tools, or configuration templates.
  • Act as technical lead for application deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and decommissioning efforts.
  • Support data migrations and coordinate with MSPs during infrastructure transitions.
  • Monitor infrastructure systems for availability, patching, and security.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of secure infrastructure configurations aligned with industry standards.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of system relationships and dependencies in the CMDB.
  • Maintain detailed systems documentation and architecture diagrams.
  • Contribute to automation and technical implementation of service catalog request workflows.
  • Manage technical aspects of software licenses and support vendor onboarding/integration.
  • Champion security best practices across system design, access management, and configuration.
  • Support ISO 27001 audits and internal IT compliance reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. IT Support Specialist and IT Assistant to ensure consistency across tools and processes.
  • Build trust by delivering consistent, reliable, and transparent technical support.
