As an IT systems engineer senior or lead on our Mainframe Hardware team, you’ll prioritize installation, maintenance, and strategic planning of equipment supporting a multi-data center Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS) environment. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts to design and implement complex configurations and manage and optimize the mainframe hardware multi-sysplex environment across multiple data centers. In this role, you’ll lead weekly vendor reviews, plan, and coordinate mainframe hardware activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives, while also fostering strong partnerships and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. You’ll mentor the Operations staff to enhance their expertise in mainframe technologies and procedures. Additionally, you’ll participate in and provide leadership for our on-call rotation coverage to ensure seamless operation, rapid issue resolution, and minimal downtime of technology across our two data centers.
This is a hybrid position that requires you to be hands-on in our two data centers (300 N. Commons Blvd, Mayfield Village, OH, and 1625 Rockwell Ave, Cleveland, OH) to complete tasks. Candidates must live in the Cleveland area.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems
  • {OR} Associate’s degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline, Math, or other related field of study and minimum of four years working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures, and operating systems

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge and use of z/OS operating systems and commands
  • In-depth understanding of mainframe hardware, including processors, HMC, directors, DASD, and tape
  • Expertise in Coupling Facility functions, commands, and sysplex dependencies as well as a comprehensive understanding of processes within a GDPS environment
  • Proficiency in HCD, HCM, JCL, TSO/ISPF, IOF, SYSVIEW, and VISIO
  • Skilled in using IBM CSP and Brocade Support Portal
