Job Description The IT Systems & Security Lead is a hands-on, proactive bridge between our team and our clients, and our outsourced IT provider. You’ll be the go-to person for IT support and security — ensuring that our systems are protected, users are supported, and technology aligns with our business needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys solving problems, and has both technical expertise and strong communication skills. Duties and Responsibilities: User Support & IT Operations Serve as the primary internal point of contact for IT issues across the company. Coordinate and manage ticket resolution with outsourced IT support. Maintain and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network access for employees. Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring proper access and security. Client IT Systems (Software Deployment Support) Support customer-related hardware, software, and connectivity requirements related to our product deployments. Liaise between IT Infrastructure & Security and Operations for customer installations, including planning, deployment, configuration/setup, and troubleshooting. Serve as the focal point for the software bug reporting process, ensuring accurate validation, classification, and communication with all relevant parties — internal (Software Development, Product, and Operations) and external (customer IT contacts). Collaborate with Software Development to replicate and resolve environment-related issues affecting customers. Assist management in tracking and reporting support performance metrics and ensuring compliance with customer SLAs, driving continuous improvement in deployment quality and customer satisfaction. Vendor & Systems Management Act as liaison with our external IT partner to ensure SLAs and quality standards are met. Manage software licenses, cloud systems, and device inventory. Evaluate and recommend tools, systems, or vendors as needed. Security & Compliance Implement and manage security controls (MFA, endpoint protection, patching, backups). Coordinate with external providers on incident response, audits, and remediation. Develop and maintain internal security policies and procedures. Support user awareness training on cybersecurity and data protection. Infrastructure & Cloud Manage Microsoft 365 environment (users, groups, permissions, SharePoint, etc.). Oversee VPN access, cloud storage, and identity management. Assist with future IT roadmap and internal infrastructure planning. Build knowledge base of technology developments (e.g. AI, LLM) and collaborate on product vision. Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated experience in IT support or systems administration (SMB experience preferred). Strong understanding of: Microsoft 365 administration Endpoint security and MFA Network and VPN fundamentals Backup and patch management Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset. Proven ability to manage vendors and coordinate projects independently. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science or a related science or technical field Ability to work extended hours if business critical operations are at stake. Ability to work onsite 5 days per week. Strong technical background with emphasis on hardware and systems administration.
