This IT/AV Technician is responsible for providing technical assistance, support and advice to hotel staff and guests using computers, peripherals and audiovisual equipment. The IT-AV tech will install, configure, prepare, arrange, operate, diagnose, inspect maintain, and repair equipment such as laptops, desktops, point of sales, microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting, sound and other property equipment. Trains assigned personnel in simple equipment operation. This candidate will help determine the IT needs and is responsible for implementing business applications to fulfill demand requirements. Will also manage and optimize industry standard systems to maximize property operations What you have Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience 1-2 years of experience working in IT Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices Understanding of Hotel Guest Facing technologies such as PMS, POS systems What you’ll do Troubleshoot and provide solutions to hotel guest facing systems such as PMS and POS Work with vendors and for new hardware and software Troubleshoot hardware and software issues Effective communication with property executives and corporate staff to convey issues and or possible solutions necessary Assists with Audio visual setups, troubleshooting, and maintaining AV equipment Analyze and report on support data to determine the best practices solutions Manage IT ticketing process and provide accurate reporting for trend analysis Receive, configure, install and support computer hardware and peripherals in a networked environment Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hardware and software issues for users in their workspace Assist the Network Administrator and other IT staff in the roll-out of network, operating system and software upgrades and patches as those requirements arise Use common hand tools, diagnostic and predictive software and tools to perform routine maintenance and upgrades on computers, peripherals and network hardware and appliances Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and hazard free work environment Perform other departmental duties as may be required by Management Physical Demand Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
