On behalf of our Government client, Procom is searching for an IT Technical Business Analyst - Senior for a contract role. This position is a remote position with occasional days onsite at our client’s Edmonton office.

IT TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST - SENIOR - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Motor Vehicle Modernization (MVM) initiative is a critical project aimed at unifying Alberta’s fragmented Motor Vehicle and Traffic Safety systems into a single platform. The IT Technical Business Analyst will work with Transportation and Economic Corridors to gather requirements, perform gap analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver solutions enhancing operational efficiency.

IT TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST - SENIOR - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated experience with applications providing services to commercial carriers.
  • Strong understanding of Alberta’s Carrier Profiling.
  • Experience with the Alberta Traffic Safety Act and regulations.
  • Understanding of Agile framework and experience using tools like JIRA.
  • Ability to apply and interpret complex legislation/regulations.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and achieve outcomes.

IT TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST - SENIOR – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience with enterprise application architecture.
  • Knowledge of security threat risk assessments.
  • Experience in change management and training.
  • Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
  • Experience in policy and business process enhancements.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and translate complex business and functional requirements into high-level system functionality.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and conduct process walkthroughs.
  • Create, review, and update user stories, personas, and journey maps.
  • Document and validate results with subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and technical leads.
  • Support the design of IT solutions and validate through user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Support development of system documentation and recommend policy enhancements.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and status reporting.
