Job Title: IT Technology
Line Manager: Assistant Director of IT
Start date: As soon as possible
SUMMARY OF JOB
To support staff, students, parents and other stakeholders in their use of IT in the College and accessing College IT systems. To contribute to the development and maintenance of the IT infrastructure across the College.
To maintain IT equipment, stocks of spares and keep records of equipment. To advise users to ensure the best use of equipment and provide solutions to suit individual needs.
IT HELPDESK
· To provide first-line technical support to staff and students (via helpdesk tickets, phone, online chat, in person, or email), working with the IT Team to support the IT systems and its users.
· To log requests for help on the College’s helpdesk system, seeking assistance from the wider IT team where necessary.
· To help those who ask for help with any aspect of IT and digital systems.
· To support specialist exams (e.g. preparation for language listening exams).
GENERAL
· To help support the broader activities of the College where needed. Sometimes this might require some work outside normal office hours eg supporting College events, or assisting technology changes out of hours.
· To demonstrate an awareness and commitment to safeguarding, equality diversity and inclusion, health and safety and data protection, in line with College policies.
· To do other tasks as reasonably requested by the Principal from time to time.
This job description may be varied according to the needs of the College from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Relevant IT qualifications or equivalent experience
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
· Technical knowledge of Windows and Mac, MS Office, Office 365
· Experience working in a help desk or customer-support environment
· Experience working in an educational environment (desirable)Essential
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
· Problem-solver with ability to think on their feet to help someone in the moment
· Personable with good communication skills for speaking to staff and students
· Ability to explain technical matters in user-friendly language.
· Good attention to detail
