POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an IT Technician to join our growing team at GTI Laboratories. The IT Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining our organization’s hardware and software systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining inventory, and providing support for a wide range of IT needs. The ideal candidate should be tech-savvy, adaptable, and able to collaborate effectively with team members across departments while remaining proactive and solution-oriented.

Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 11am-7pm
Location: Scottsdale, AZ

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Basic industry certifications (A+, Network+ or equivalent) are preferred; college education is a plus but not required.
  • Experience:
  • 2–3 years of helpdesk or desktop support experience, with a focus on customer service and technical problem-solving.
  • Hands-on experience is acceptable in lieu of formal education.
  • Previous experience in a collaborative IT environment is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work occasional after-hours or weekend support as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to IT-related requests from users, including remote users, utilizing remote monitoring and management software.
  • Provide support for in-house computer systems, ensuring top performance of workstations, including troubleshooting, upgrading, repairing, maintaining, and installing hardware and software.
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop solutions to recurring technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and system problems by researching, diagnosing, and applying available resources and information.
  • Offer clear, step-by-step guidance to users when documentation for issues does not exist, both over the phone and in person.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for technology processes and provide end-user support.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to implement and maintain systems that align with industry best practices while safeguarding data, networks, and systems.
  • Regularly monitor and track service desk requests in the ticketing system, ensuring efficient problem resolution and proper documentation.
  • Upgrade software and hardware as authorized, including desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, and other devices.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling equipment loaners and coordinating shipments to remote sites.
  • Foster a positive support experience for team members by maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
