NATURE OF WORK

The IT Technician is responsible for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems, providing technical support to end-users, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and applications.
The main responsibility of this position is to work closely with employees across various departments, assisting them with hardware and software issues, setting up new devices, and maintaining security protocols within the towns covered under South Windsor’s technology services agreements, including Coventry, Tolland, and Andover. Remainder of the time will be spent in South Windsor supporting town IT staff. The technician will report to the lead technician assigned to each agency as well as the CIO. This is a contracted position with generous benefits, excluding health coverage, evaluated for renewal every 3 years. 37.5 hours per week. $23.11 per hour.
