Description

Level 2 IT Support Technician

Kyanite Solutions Pty Ltd | Darwin, NT | Hybrid Work Available

Kyanite Solutions is a Darwin-based Managed Service Provider supporting small to medium businesses nation-wide. We provide managed IT services, technical support, cybersecurity uplift, technology procurement and consulting services to a growing customer base across a range of industries.

We are looking for an experienced Level 2 IT Support Technician to join our team. This role would suit someone who already has solid helpdesk experience, enjoys problem-solving and is ready to take the next step in their IT career.

This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, confidently support end users, manage day-to-day technical issues and assist with onsite and remote support across multiple client environments.

About the Role

As a Level 2 IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing practical, reliable and professional IT support to our managed service clients. You will work across a mix of remote helpdesk support, onsite visits, Microsoft 365 administration, device support, networking troubleshooting and general IT service delivery.

You will be part of a small, supportive team where your contribution matters and where you will have the opportunity to keep developing your technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Providing day-to-day helpdesk support to business customers
  • Troubleshooting Windows, Microsoft 365, email, device and network issues
  • Supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive and Intune
  • Assisting with user onboarding, offboarding and access management
  • Performing onsite support visits for customers across Darwin and surrounding areas
  • Configuring and supporting laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices and networking equipment
  • Assisting with endpoint management, security configuration and device compliance
  • Supporting basic cybersecurity controls, including MFA, endpoint protection, phishing awareness and access control
  • Documenting work clearly in our ticketing and documentation systems
  • Escalating complex issues where required while taking ownership of assigned tasks
  • Assisting with project work, deployments, migrations and system improvements

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Fluent written and spoken English, along with valid Australian working rights.
  • Must be currently residing in Darwin, Northern Territory, or the immediate surrounding area
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in a helpdesk, IT support, or similar technical support role
  • Current full driver’s licence and ability to attend onsite client support visits
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite
  • Experience administering Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Intune
  • Experience with Windows desktops, laptops and general business IT environments
  • Experience with Windows Server administration
  • Basic networking knowledge, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs, routers, switches and wireless networks
  • Ability to troubleshoot network, device, user access and Microsoft 365 issues
  • Understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts and best practices
  • Experience using remote support tools
  • Experience using or supporting Linux distributions
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work through issues logically
  • Good communication skills and the ability to support users with varying levels of technical knowledge
  • A professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • CompTIA A+ certification, or equivalent demonstrated technical experience

Highly Regarded Experience

The following experience would be beneficial, but is not essential:

  • VoIP phone systems
  • Microsoft 365 Defender Admin
  • Microsoft Power Automate
  • Microsoft Power Apps
  • AWS services
  • Firewall and router configuration
  • Backup platforms
  • Remote monitoring and management tools
  • Working in an MSP environment

About You

You are someone who enjoys IT, takes pride in solving problems properly and wants to continue growing your technical capability. You are comfortable speaking with customers, explaining technical issues in plain English and taking ownership of support tickets from start to finish.

You do not need to know everything, but you do need to be proactive, willing to learn and capable of working in a fast-moving managed services environment.

What We Offer

  • Hybrid working opportunities
  • Relaxed and supportive office environment
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Paid upskilling and professional development
  • Yearly bonus opportunities
  • Exposure to a wide range of technologies and customer environments
  • Opportunity to grow with a local MSP
  • Supportive team culture with a focus on practical outcomes and continuous improvement

How to Apply
