We are seeking a motivated IT Specialist Tier 1 to join our dynamic team and support internal departments, field technicians, and client locations.Position OverviewThe IT Specialist Tier 1 is the first point of contact for technical support requests from internal users and clients. This position provides assistance in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computers, networks, software, and security systems. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, and passionate about technology.Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 technical support to internal departments and clients via phone, email and remote access.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network issues; escalate complex problems as needed.
  • Install, configure, and maintain cameras, computers, and other IT equipment.
  • Support basic IT infrastructure including cameras, routers, switches and network devices.
  • Support and maintain user access to Microsoft 365, remote monitoring tools, and internal systems.
  • Assist in implementing and supporting IT and security-related projects across various sites.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, including support logs and asset records.
  • Monitor and maintain network performance and device connectivity.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly and professionally with clients, end users, and team members.
  • Stay updated on technology trends, security protocols, and internal systems supported by SIG Systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Temporary Responsibilities (In Absence of Service Coordinator)In case of subcontractor unavailability or emergency situations, the IT Specialist Tier 1 may be expected to:Subcontractor Coordination

  • Act as a point of contact for subcontractors during emergencies or unplanned service needs.
  • Oversee subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to SIG Systems’ standards and procedures.
  • Maintain detailed records of all communications and service activities for later review by the Service Coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (required).
  • 1+ year of experience providing IT support in a business or technical environment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and basic networking.
  • Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
  • Basic understanding of IP networks and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Willingness to take direction and adapt to new tasks.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IP video surveillance or access control systems is a plus.
