ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our IT systems, including user support, infrastructure deployment, and system maintenance. You will play an essential role in ensuring smooth operations across the organization by addressing hardware/software issues, deploying IT systems, and supporting ongoing IT projects, such as an upcoming email migration initiative. This role reports directly to the IT Manager.
The ideal candidate is someone with strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset. This is a full-time, on-site position based in our head office.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in Tier 1–2 IT support, including help desk, technical support, or field service roles.
  • IT Technician Certification (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, or equivalent certifications).
  • Experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V/VMware, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows desktop environments, including hardware/software diagnostics, system imaging, and peripheral maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, VLANs, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 suite of products.
  • Familiarity with or experience in email system migration, including configuration and troubleshooting during system transitions.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving mindset, capable of troubleshooting and resolving complex IT issues efficiently.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the region.
  • On-site role based at the Windsor Plywood head office in Langley, BC.
    Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and effective support for IT hardware, software, and network systems, including setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Respond to and resolve Tier 1–2 IT support tickets, ensuring issues are handled in a timely manner.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory (AD), including user account management (creation, modification, deactivation), group policy configuration and user permissions. Ensure security best practices are followed in AD configuration and management.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Microsoft Outlook, including configuration problems, connectivity issues, syncing errors, and general functionality issues.
  • Assist with the migration of email systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, and user support during the transition phase.
  • Diagnose and repair PC hardware issues, including motherboard, CPU, memory, and other internal components. Ensure that all hardware is up-to-date, functional, and in optimal working condition.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to printers, including connectivity problems, print jobs stuck in the queue, driver issues, and hardware malfunctions.
  • Schedule and execute regular system maintenance and upgrades, minimizing disruptions to business operations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to manage system performance and ensure infrastructure security.
  • Offer orientation and training to employees on new software, systems, and IT tools to ensure smooth adoption and usage.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, service tickets, and configurations.
  • Develop user-friendly documentation and knowledge base articles to support end-users.
  • Work closely with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems, networks, and hardware.
  • Follow company policies and IT procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices and data privacy regulations.
