This position will sit on-site in Arlington, Virginia at the Pentagon. Current project technologies include legacy Java, JSP, native Javascript, scriplet code built in Eclipse with a MS SQL server backend and GIT for the code repository. Key Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive testing of current and future software applications and modules, ensuring high-quality delivery for our customers. Develop clear, thorough, and well-structured test cases based on requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, applying strong knowledge of software engineering principles. Execute functional, regression, and exploratory testing across multiple environments. Validate new features, enhancements, and defect fixes, and document results with precision and clarity. Log defects in Azure DevOps (ADO) with detailed reproduction steps, expected vs. actual outcomes, and supporting evidence. Take full ownership of assigned testing tasks, delivering high quality work with minimal supervision. Apply sound judgment and problem-solving techniques to meet objectives while working under general direction. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies—including daily stand ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives—while collaborating with team members in an Azure DevOps environment. Analyze customer needs, quickly learn new tools and technologies, and contribute to effective solutions both independently and within a cross functional team. Prepare and deliver demonstrations of newly implemented functionality to customers or stakeholders, clearly articulating changes, expected behavior, and business value while confidently addressing questions. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years of relevant experience; Masters and seven (7) years of relevant experience. PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree Required Skills: Proven ability to quickly understand and work with complex software systems, technical workflows, and application architectures. Strong background in structured software testing methodologies, with hands on experience creating, executing, and documenting detailed test procedures. Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools, particularly Azure DevOps (ADO), for organizing test cases, tracking progress, and reporting defects. Clearance: Active Secret clearance is required for this position.
