Description
About the role In this role, you will take the lead in shaping quality across complex enterprise technology environments. This role drives testing strategies across both commercial off-the-shelf and bespoke solutions, ensuring systems are robust, reliable, and ready to deliver exceptional outcomes. Acting as a trusted advisor on quality risks and delivery readiness, you’ll collaborate closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams to elevate testing practices and improve outcomes across the organisation. Your expertise will help ensure enterprise systems are fit for purpose, aligned to business needs, and capable of supporting reliable services for the community. Key responsibilities include: * Provide senior level testing and quality assurance expertise across complex enterprise initiatives, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and meet business requirements. * Lead the development of test approaches, including test strategies and test plans, for initiatives involving multiple integrated COTS and bespoke systems, applying risk based and context appropriate testing methods. * Analyse functional and non‑functional requirements to identify quality risks and define appropriate test coverage. * Design, review, and execute testing activities across system, integration, regression, end-to-end, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), providing professional oversight where testing is shared across teams or vendors. * Provide independent advice on defect severity, testing outcomes, and release readiness, clearly articulating quality risks, trade-offs, and mitigation options to project, product, and business stakeholders. * Support and guide business stakeholders through UAT to ensure test scenarios reflect real world operational processes and that outcomes are understood, validated, and appropriately signed off. About you To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline and equivalent significant professional experience in software testing. Essential Experience: * Demonstrated expertise in planning and executing testing across complex ICT environments. * Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, risk-based testing, and quality assurance principles. * Proven ability to exercise professional judgement and provide clear advice on quality risks, defects, and release readiness. * Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes without formal authority. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret requirements and assess system impacts. Desired Experience: * Demonstrated experience in automated testing, including designing, developing, and maintaining test frameworks, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring high-quality, reliable software delivery.
