At the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), we are committed to improving health outcomes across the globe through research, education, and capacity building. As we continue to innovate and evolve, we are looking for a passionate and proactive IT Trainer to help drive digital transformation by supporting staff and students in adopting and effectively using a range of technologies and systems.
As an IT Trainer, you will play a key role in promoting the use of new and existing digital technologies across LSTM. You will develop and deliver tailored training sessions, create accessible support materials, and provide hands-on assistance to ensure users are confident and capable in their use of IT systems and tools.
You will work closely with both academic and professional services teams to assess training needs, champion digital best practices, and support the successful rollout of new technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver relevant IT training in both a formal (e.g., a classroom) or informal (e.g., drop-in sessions and remote-control software) setting.
  • Manage, develop, and build a range of IT training courses for new and existing applications
  • Develop and integrate working training manual(s) for all new systems through the training lifecycle
  • Design course materials and other documents such as hand-outs, e-learning, manuals, and exercises
  • Supervise and liaise with new and existing partners (e.g., external course providers, employers, examining bodies) to fulfil the skills needs of an organisation
  • Conduct performance assessments to determine the skills gaps between current and desirable learner skill levels
  • Carry out training requirement analysis and participate where required in evaluations of new software for improved user adoption.
  • Manage and contribute towards medium and long term coordinated planning based on LSTM’s objectives to keep the organisation up to date with developments in AV and IT.
  • Advise colleagues on potential uses of existing and new technologies
  • Provide recommendations about accessing information and support
