As an IT user experience (UX) researcher on the Progressive User Research and Accessibility Services (PURAS) team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping digital experiences for millions of customers, agents, and employees. By leveraging a variety of research methods—including card sorts, surveys, usability tests, interviews, and contextual inquiries—you’ll gain a deep understanding of user needs, motivations, and behaviors. Your insights will guide the design and development of intuitive, user-friendly products that align with customer expectations and business goals. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders, advocate for users, evaluate design solutions, stay informed about industry trends, and uphold ethical standards in research and design practices. Your researching endeavors will assist in creating accessible and inclusive digital experiences.
This is a remote position for US-based work only.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an Information Technology, Business, or related field of study such as Business Administration, Communications, Web Design, User Experience Design, or Usability Science and a minimum of two years of related work experience in a collaborative environment facilitating focus groups or usability tests, leading processes or projects, and consulting.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of four years of related work experience in a collaborative environment facilitating focus groups or usability tests, leading processes or projects, and consulting.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency in generative and evaluative user research methods (e.g., usability testing, surveys, contextual inquiries), with the ability to translate both qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights; accessibility certification or training (A11Y) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of inclusive design principles, accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), universal design practices, and emerging trends in UX research and digital product design.
  • Experience synthesizing and presenting research findings to stakeholders through compelling reports, visuals, and storytelling, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with user research tools and software (e.g., Optimal Workshop, UserTesting) and adaptability to evolving UX tools and trends
  • Experience with AI or leverage LLMs to conduct research
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and product managers, with a strong sense of empathy and advocacy for user needs.
