Salary starting from £61,600 per annum plus up to 20% annual bonus, car allowance (£450pcm) and family healthcare.

An IT Vendor Manager within SPEN Business Transformation is responsible for identifying, developing, implementing and managing a portfolio of commercially robust contracts and frameworks to support short, medium and long-term Digitalisation, Data and Transformation strategic plans. These aim to deliver operational and investment activities across the Business Transformation function whilst driving maximum value form the regulatory contract.
This position has 1 direct report.

What you’ll be doing

  • Proactively identifying framework and contract requirements for Business Transformation programmes.
  • Engaging with Procurement to deliver effective and commercially advantageous contracts in line with financial & non-financial targets.
  • Developing service contracts and frameworks to facilitate the implementation of our future delivery strategy ensuring flexibility to meet changing external and internal factors.
  • Managing the development of contractual relationships to realise additional value from operational and investment activities.
  • Ensuring effective management of contracts and service level agreements through a contract management regime.
  • Forecast SPENs service requirement in line with commercial agreements, markets and manufacturers lead times and constraints.
  • Ensuring quality and standards are in line with strategy and operational requirements.
  • Liaising with Procurement, Legal and Standards to ensure contractual T&Cs are aligned with delivery strategy and manage risk.
  • Collaborating with Programme Management function to be aligned with and support contract governance processes.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing contracts to support delivery of business plan outputs in line with financial, regulatory and business plan objectives whilst optimising return through incentive mechanisms.
  • Driving the application/inclusion of innovative solutions to all contracts whether it is technological, procedural, or commercial.
  • Leading and driving continual performance improvement through analysis of outputs and feedback from internal and external sources.
  • Developing the skills, knowledge, and behaviours amongst the team through the mentoring and training of less experienced team members, graduates and trainees. through active customer and stakeholder engagement, support delivery of robust communication activities to facilitate the delivery of project plans and deliverables affecting local communities, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Integrating Operational Excellence principles in all undertakings.

What you’ll bring

  • Expert knowledge of standards required of Digital & IT works in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contract & SLA management and general commercial & regulatory awareness with the ability to balance conflicting priorities using sound commercial and financial judgement to determine optimal solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of the Contract and Commercial management, ideally within a regulated industry, including relevant output and incentive mechanisms.
  • Project / programme management experience, with a strong performance ethos and a track record of driving and delivering projects and initiatives.
  • Track record of effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.
  • Ability to communicate and present information effectively at all levels
  • Awareness and understanding of key business drivers and the external commercial context in which SP Energy Networks, or an equivalent regulated business, is operating within.
  • Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges.
  • Expert knowledge of Procurement process requirements
  • Working knowledge of health &safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Developed negotiation and communication skills.

To be successful, as a minimum you will have to demonstrate:

  • Computer literacy (MS Packages)
