Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an ITTC Youth Worker, you’ll collaborate with a colleague to provide high-quality support to a maximum of four young individuals, utilising a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach.
The program involves short-term assessment and support, typically lasting three months, with opportunities for activities like equine therapy.
The role is dynamic, requiring active engagement, and includes relationship building, therapeutic youth work, and participation in team analysis and decision-making.
Our Leadership Team, include a Therapeutic Specialist, Education Specialist, House Manager, Case Worker, Senior Youth worker, and a team of specialist youth workers, aims to deliver quality therapeutic care.
Part time and casual positions are available based in our Intensive Therapeutic Transitional Care Program in Royalla, this position reports to the IITC House Manager.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Assist young people to develop living and life skills.
  • Role model and reinforce positive behaviour through social learning, social responsibility, and emotional intelligence.
  • Promote democracy and support young people to engage in a participatory environment where they can have a say in and influence the decisions that affect their lives.
  • Provide support to children and young people living in the accommodation service including undertaking household duties such as cleaning, shopping and meal preparation as required.
  • Participate in team environment, and house meetings to ensure that young people receive services that meet their needs.
  • Safeguard the wellbeing of young people and report any concerns immediately.
