Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you an experienced, forward-thinking GP with a passion for clinical leadership and service improvement?
We’re looking for an Interim IUC Lead GP to join our Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) Division, providing visible, effective leadership and professional support to our clinical teams across Norfolk and Essex. You’ll work closely with the IUC Medical Director and form part of the divisional leadership team, helping shape quality, safety, innovation, and workforce development across services including Out of Hours, CAS, UTCs, the Unscheduled Care Coordination Hub and Acute Visiting Services.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on clinical delivery – you’ll continue to work clinically within our services under your existing IC24 salaried contract while stepping into a vital leadership position supported by an IUC GP Team Manager.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Providing clinical leadership across IUC services and acting as a key interface with local health system partners.
  • Supporting recruitment, appraisals and professional development of salaried and sessional GPs.
  • Driving service improvement initiatives and quality governance in partnership with the IUC Medical Director.
  • Representing IC24 at external meetings with stakeholders across NHS organisations.
  • Supporting incident investigations, performance reviews, and compliance with regulatory standards including CQC.
  • Maintaining clinical practice and contributing to day-to-day service delivery.
