Essential Functions Under direct supervision of the supervisor, performs a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks involving the operation and repair of automotive and related maintenance equipment in the area of transportation of materials, food, and supplies to various areas of the facility and any other destination. Performs maintenance of equipment to keep in operational order such as brake repairs, electronic ignitions, heating and air conditioning systems, exhaust systems, tune up procedures, timing procedures and oil changes for the various facility vehicles. Monitors and schedules operating repairs of any electrical equipment or machinery requiring attention. Transports residents by bus too various locations for recreation and sightseeing tours. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school. Requires one (1) years’ experience in performing a variety of semiskilled mechanical and manual tasks in the maintenance and operation of automotive or related maintenance equipment. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of automotive and related machinery and equipment and one or more of the mechanical or building trades.  Requires working ability to use tools and perform semiskilled manual work. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Requires ability to prepare routine reports including written logs of hours of services, bill of lading, etc. Extensive knowledge in the operation of maintenance or other automotive equipment. Experience operating vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions. Experience in the operation of maintenance or other automotive equipment. Conditions of Employment   Requires the ability to pass a background check. Requires the ability meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance. Requires the ability pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical. Requires the ability acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate. Requires the ability attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid commercial driver’s license. This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
