Description
Overview Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Software Application SME to support mission-critical software modernization, development, and deployment efforts for the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM)/J56. This Role involves advancing mission planning and execution capabilities for strategic deterrence through systems engineering, Agile/DevOps practices, and continuous integration/delivery methodologies. Contractors will be engaged in evaluating and enhancing the survivability, interoperability, and reliability of strategic weapon systems while contributing to planning documents, test and evaluation strategies, and rapid technology fielding efforts. This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical NC3 software and systems that shape national defense strategies, collaborating with diverse DoD and government partners to drive innovation and operational excellence in support of the strategic enterprise. This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE Responsibilities Review, prepare, and analyze a variety of documentation, including planning, requirements, design, support, and testing. Also, to include source code, configuration files, and engineering resolution support Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code Enhance operations by conducting a systems analysis and recommending changes to policies and procedures. Acquiring and licensing software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure that developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications Work as a member of an agile software development team. Performing some mix of the below tasks as directed by the government team lead or the engineering lead Elaborate high-level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users and government lead engineers. Perform other software engineering and documentation tasks as assigned Qualifications Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibilityEducation: Bachelor's degreeYears of Experience: Minimum of 15 years relevant experience to include: 5 years supporting DoD Expertise in the Software Acquisition Pathway for rapid development and integration Expert knowledge of JCIDS Expert knowledge of SMPES Governance Processes Additional InformationLocation: Offutt AFB, NEOn-site/Hybrid/Remote: On-SiteTravel: 25%
