What You’ll Do As a Middle School Math Teacher, you will: Drive Academic Excellence Deliver rigorous, engaging math lessons aligned to state standards and the RePublic Math vision. Foster deep conceptual understanding through inquiry, discussion, and problem-solving. Use real-time data to drive daily instruction and ensure all scholars reach academic mastery. Foster a Collaborative Culture Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to plan high-quality lessons and share best practices. Engage in weekly professional development and reflect consistently to grow your craft. Build a culture of high expectations, joy, and curiosity around math. Provide Specialized Support Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with IEPs or language support needs. Integrate technology, hands-on activities, and real-world applications to deepen learning. Use frequent formative assessments to target instruction and close gaps quickly. Cultivate Meaningful Relationships Build strong, trust-based relationships with scholars and families. Maintain consistent communication about scholar progress and academic goals. Foster scholars' confidence in math by encouraging a growth mindset and celebrating success. Preferred: Teaching certification in Mathematics or a related field, or enrollment in a state-accredited Alternative Certification Program by the start of employment. Strong content knowledge in middle grades mathematics, with the ability to teach conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and application. Preferred: Prior experience teaching math, particularly in schools serving historically underserved communities.
