Description Pay: $ 17.75/HR 2nd shift (2:30pm-11:15pm) Paid Holidays. Medical Dental Vision Paid vacation after a year Sick time Cleans and keeps in an orderly condition assigned areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, VA medical facility, or other government establishment. Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms. Cleaning tasks could include but not be limited to the following: Assigned Areas – Dust mop and damp mop floors, dust chairs. Clean, disinfect and polish water fountain, front doors glass, frame and thresholds. Spot clean walls, all doors, door frames, and areas around light switches and magazine racks. Replace trash liners as required. Restrooms - sanitization cleaning of lavatories, all fixtures, floors, toilet seat & bowl (inside and out), mirrors, soap dispensers, trash cans. Underside of sinks and pipes, faucets, paper towel holders, walls, doorknobs, ledges and light switches. Hospital grade germicide will be used on sinks and toilets. Refill all dispensers. Floors - shall be dust mopped and wet mopped with disinfectant/detergent as stated in specifications. Buff floors per schedule. Requirements · MUST be able to pass a standard background check and drug screen to be cleared to work in a VA Medical Facility. · Military veteran preferred · Functions well around patients, staff and visitors in a clinical setting · Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role · Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances · Knowledge of safe disposal of chemicals · Attention to detail and conscientiousness · Very good physical condition and strength · High school diploma is preferred but not required
