Description Position Summary: The Part-Time Janitor/Maintenance Worker helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for parishioners, staff, and visitors. This role supports the mission of the parish by ensuring that church buildings and grounds are properly cared for and prepared for liturgies and parish activities. Primary Responsibilities: · Clean and maintain the church and church buildings, restrooms, classrooms, and gym. · Prepare and reset spaces before and after Masses and parish events · Perform maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, changing light bulbs, painting, etc. · Maintain cleanliness of parish grounds, including basic outdoor upkeep · Report maintenance needs or safety concerns to the pastor or parish administrator · Safely use cleaning equipment and supplies · Assist with seasonal and liturgical setup as needed Requirements Qualifications: · Prior custodial or maintenance experience required · Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and basic construction required. · Knowledge of boilers and HVAC preferred. · Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and standing for extended periods · Knowledge of cleaning tools and equipment · Reliable, self-directed, and respectful of church property and sacred spaces Schedule: · Part-time position (12-16 hours per week) Additional Requirements: · Must support the mission and values of the Catholic Church · Background check required in accordance with diocesan policy
