DESCRIPTION

Job Overview:
As a Part-Time Janitor, you’ll be responsible for providing exceptional support to residents of a large community development in the Chicago suburbs. You’ll ensure that the facilities are in good working order, safe, and aesthetically pleasing, creating a comfortable and productive environment for those who use the building.
This part-time opportunity is available at an on-site community in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. This role includes approximately 10 scheduled hours of work per week.

Your Responsibilities:

• Handle routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, trash removal, and basic repairs, as well as coordinating more complex repairs and renovations.
• Maintain grounds, including removing limbs or fallen branches, picking up garbage, etc..
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of various equipment, such as HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing.
• Ensure facilities are safe and secure by maintaining security systems, emergency plans, and other safety measures.
• Ensure that facilities comply with relevant safety regulations and standards.
• Report to manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
• Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
• Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
• Provide customer service to residents, answering questions and addressing concerns.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year’s previous experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
• Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings.
• Works effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner.
• Addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.
• Must possess a high energy attitude and an ability to multi-task/prioritize different projects at any given time.
• Superior oral and written communication skills.

Compensation
$ 18.00 - $ 22.00 / hour
