Description Janitorial Associate TITLE: Janitorial Associate DEPARTMENT: Maintenance STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS POSITION REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director POSITION PURPOSE The Janitorial Associate is responsible for the general cleaning and upkeep of our offices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Sweep, mop and vacuum Dust and wipe clean all furniture Restroom cleaning - detailed cleaning and sanitizing, and restocking Break room cleaning includes microwaves, counters, sinks, refrigerator, and tables and chairs Empty wastebaskets and trash cans Use proper cleaning supplies and equipment for the job Practice safety always Requirements QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school diploma or GED required TRAINING: Previous cleaning experience a plus EXPERIENCE: JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Must be able to work on feet for an extended period of time. Must have basic knowledge of chemicals and their uses. Must be knowledgeable and familiar with all aspects of custodial service. Must be willing to work evenings. Must be able to work independently. SPECIAL DEMANDS: May be asked to work weekends PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing or walking for long periods of time Ability to operate a variety of equipment Stand in the heat for long periods of time COMPANY CONFORMANCE STATEMENTS In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following: Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
