PURPOSE:

Cleanliness is a critical part of the guest experience and helps create a lasting impression of quality and care. Night Cleaners play a vital role in maintaining the appearance, hygiene, and safety of all public areas during overnight hours, ensuring the facility is pristine and guest-ready each morning. From lobbies to restrooms, hallways to event spaces, your attention to detail helps ensure every corner of the property looks immaculate and feels welcoming.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all public and common areas including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, public restrooms, staff rooms, and entrances.
  • Perform dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, and polishing of surfaces according to night-time cleaning protocols.
  • Sanitize high-touch surfaces such as door handles, railings, and light switches to meet health and safety standards.
  • Empty and sanitize garbage and recycling bins regularly throughout the night shift.
  • Replenish supplies in public restrooms and other common areas as needed (toilet paper, soap, hand towels, etc.).
  • Wear safety protection equipment as per policy and legislative requirements.
  • Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely in compliance with WHMIS and company guidelines.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damages to the supervisor.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Support other housekeeping team members when needed to contribute to a clean and safe hotel environment.
